Frequently asked questions
- Code 128 or Code 39?
- Code 128 is roughly 30% narrower for the same data and supports lower case. Code 39 only survives where legacy systems demand it.
- May I use Code 128 for retail products?
- Not at the checkout – retail POS requires EAN-13 or UPC-A. For internal logistics Code 128 is fine.
- How long may the content be?
- Technically unlimited, practically keep it under about 20 characters for reliable handheld scanning.
